Paramedic – Carrollton

TotalCare's Paramedic provides high-quality medical care within TotalCare's Emergency Room & Urgent Care hybrid facilities. This role primarily supports the Urgent Care side, performing advanced clinical procedures such as IV starts, phlebotomy, and 12-lead EKGs, while also assisting the Freestanding ER team during acute cases. The Paramedic plays a key role in the entire patient visit, from intake and triage to procedure support and documentation.

• Conduct patient intake, obtain vitals, and record medical history
• Perform diagnostic procedures including EKGs and vision/hearing screenings
• Collect and process lab specimens; perform phlebotomy and establish IV access
• Assist providers with procedures such as wound care, splinting, and airway management
• Support front-office operations including registration, documentation, and patient communications
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and ensure all medical equipment is functional
• Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and EMTALA standards
• Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to excellent patient care

• At least two years of experience as an EMS field/911/critical care transport
• Active Texas EMT-P license
• CPR/BLS; ALS/ACLS/PALS certifications
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficient in medical documentation and EMR use
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of medical terminology and emergency care protocols

• Full-time position
• Flexible schedule with availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Standard shifts are 12 hours in duration
• Rotating schedules may be required

• Active Texas EMT-P license required
• CPR/BLS Certification required
• ALS/ACLS/PALS certifications required
• 2 years in an Emergency Center or Urgent Care setting, preferred
• Proficient with EMRs preferred
• Bilingual or multilingual skills to support diverse patient populations preferred

Must be able to bend, lift, twist, and/or stand/walk for up to 12 hours daily. May be required to lift patients.
